Dinner; Stuck in a Rut? My Recipe Book.
So I decided I would start a thread of dinner foods for you all to consider for when you are stuck in a rut, and you have no idea what to make. I will make sure to put in budget friendly meals, and also meals for you to make just to impress! I also won't forget about those Vegetarians who need the extra attention paid to what they eat.
I also won't forget those who love to cook with marijuana or special meals specifically for the munchies (easy to make, and delicious)
I figure I should share some of my skills.
The recipes I will share with you are all that of which i made myself and have experienced good reviews.
P.S. To give a background of what I have done in the culinary field I have gone to culinary school for a year. And my culinary class had a restaurant once a week, and I was also hired as a cook at a hotel/casino working full time, makin awesome food. So although some may have had some more experience than myself I still feel the need to share some oral indulgences.
I feel that since cooking food is a joy to me I might as well share that experience with others!
So Eat UP!
#1:
This week I am in the mood for Chicken. So one of my favorite styles of chicken would be the Balsamic BBQ Chicken. All that is needed 4 pieces of chicken (breast, leg (which is best), or thigh) and the ingredients to make the BBQ sauce:
* 1 cup balsamic vinegar
* 3/4 cup ketchup
* 1/3 cup brown sugar
* 1 garlic clove, minced
* 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
* 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
* 1/2 teaspoon salt
* 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
**MIX and simmer for 15 mins to reduce.
and then...
Place a grill pan over medium heat.ightly coat with some of the BBQ sauce using a pastry brush. Place the meat on the grill. Place the remaining BBQ sauce, still in the small saucepan, over low heat.Cook the chicken about 8 minutes per side.Continually brush the meat with BBQ sauce every few minutes.
Alternately, the chicken can be baked in the oven. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. Place the chicken skin side up in a baking dish and bake for 25 minutes. Remove the baking dish from the oven and spoon the BBQ sauce all over the top of the chicken. Return the baking dish to the oven and bake for another 15 minutes.
And I would suggest you prepare a nice salad to go on the side. (I personally love a nice cornbread salad, although I know that sounds a little odd it is very delicious.)
**I will update this thread every week. Give you new ideas. Some romantic dinners for valentines, or themed menus if you so please. Please feel free to ask me to create a menu for you. I will.
If you have suggestions of what you would like to see go ahead and mention it.
This thread is for you all.
