Default Welcome to Conspiracy.

Having discussed the matter, both I and AngryFemme felt that it would be beneficial to have a fairly basic set of guidelines as to how we intend on running Conspiracy. To try and avoid the biblical wailing and gnashing of teeth, we thought it would benefit all to know what they are:

There is often overlap between SotD and Conspiracy material, which is quite understandable given their former union. Crop circles for example; discussing how extraterrestrial life forms could make them or whether we can build anti-gravity machines from their 'schematics' is SotD, questioning who actually put them there and their motive for doing so is Conspiracy. The lines can become very blurred. If we move your threads to SotD (or anywhere else) we'll leave a link and usually give an explanation as to why.

A good conspiracy possesses motive, means and method. We know the nature of conspiracies is such that not all of these points may be clear, or even present in some cases, but at least make some effort to elucidate them.

The amusing, yet patently ridiculous, such as; the Chinese are manufacturing alarm clocks which maliciously refuse to go off every time you have a morning exam in order to undermine the US education system, the Universe is plotting to destroy the flush mechanism on your toilet (first check if the toilet’s been made in China) or that the local ice cream van is full of NSA agents monitoring your level of porn consumption, will be closed.

And as for opening posts which solely consist of irritating one liners such as "Figure it out..." or "I feel the Masons are at work. Discuss.", remember, we're here to discuss conspiracies, not cryptic crossword clue of the month. Do this or the directly above repeatedly and you'll run the risk of being served today's infraction soup special for spamming. You will however be given a verbal warning before that happens.

This hasn't been posted in an attempt to regiment the forum, far from it, most of you are intelligent people who don‘t need a list of instructions. It's the trolls in the night who conspire against us that need instructing.

If we make any changes to these points, this post will be altered accordingly.

Above all, we hope you enjoy using this forum!

Good job on the FAQ.

I am tempted, however, to post a thread about extra-terrestrial shamans who invade China disguised as CIA agents in order to do bogus psychic readings for yetis posing as Tibetan monks , and see whose head explodes.
