Setting up a proxy

I work in a high school, and as most people on here will know, the pupils always find a working web proxy to bypass filters and censorship - this is my problem.

I have access to server machines which I can install Linux or Windows onto, but I need the machine to be running as a proxy that can filter and block websites that contain a certain word, or line of code.

I have used a few linux distros before, and there are 2 of us working on this project but we can't figure out how to set the filtering system up.

Anyone got experience in setting up a box like this?

I was thinking about running a Squid server and DansGuardian, would this be a good method?

I've heard good things about squid but I've never used it myself. I would suggest using SSH tunneling.
