Re: Transformers *no spoilers*
Just saw it. It was definitely summer movie material, lots of exploding, banging metal, and guns and whatnot. By the time they were in the city though, I totally didn't know what was going on- I just liked all the fighting. The things that bothered me the most was the cheesiness of Megan Fox and Shia Laboef- god. The worst line of the movie was when she turns to his and goes "I won't regret getting into that car" or whatever. God, ruined everything. And yes- there was definitely a little bit too much product placements for my taste... but overall- good summery flick.

Re: Transformers *no spoilers*
Meh.
I didn't hate it but I definitely wasn't satisfied and I'm in no rush to see it again. Let alone buy it when it comes out on DVD.
On second thought though honestly it was crap.
Hollywood dreck churned out by a Hollywood hack director who couldn't even grasp the concept that a movie called Transformers should focus it's attention on Transformers and not a bunch of two dimensional human characters I could give a shit less about.
Case in point, can anyone tell me how Bumble Bee beat up Barricade?
You can't because you never actually see what happens because the esteemed Mr. Bay felt we would be more entertained by showing us Frenzy pulling Witwicky's pants off.
It fails even as a summer popcorn action flick because summer popcorn action flicks shouldn't have pointless scenes that serve no purpose and go on for way to long.

Re: Transformers *no spoilers*
It was by no means a "good" movie, as far as good movies go, but god damn was it entertaining. It was an enjoyable 2.5 hours, for sure.

Re: Transformers *no spoilers*
My complaint with the movie is NOT the bad acting, NOT the comedy (its Michael Bay what do you EXPECT??), none of that stuff.
I'm actually complaining about what was the coolest part of the movie:
THE GIANT ROBOTS FIGHTING EACH OTHER
Was it cool? Yeah... but it could have been WAY better.
First off, the sound design was terrible. When giant robots are punching each other and crashing into each other, shouldnt there be loud bangs and crashes? The Transformers were all so damn quiet! I understand as part of the plot they were made to WALK quietly, thats cool. But when Megatron first laid a little smack down didnt you expect the subwoofer to make you shit yourself? Well I sure did, but my shorts are PRETTY DAMN CLEAN. What gives?
Also a lot of the Giant Robot Battle Action (GRBA) just wasnt that good I thought. Michael Bay wanted it to be understated, I understand. He wanted the focus of the story during the fighting to be the human elements of the story. But come on. Optimus Prime and Megatron get to FIGHT, at the end of a SUMMER BLOCKBUSTER. And we barely see any of it!
WHAT THE FUCK?
I want more GRBA!
I want louder GRBA!
You have to choose when making a movie like this. You either make it a human drama, or a GRBA drama. You cant have both (I'm biting my lip not to go in on the comedy, but whatever...). Not at the same time.
Am I the only one that during the first GRBA sequence (with Bumblebee and uh, Barricade I think), felt like standing up on my tip toes so I could look over the boring humans shoulders and watch the GRBA?!

Actually that's exactly how I felt during that scene! I'd rather them focus on BB and Barricade than Frenzy and Sam.
With that said, Optimus' fight with Bonecrusher was one of the coolest things in the movie, that and Barricades' first transformation scene (ARE USERNAME: Ladiesman217!?).
