| Technophiliacs & Technophiles The Technophiliacs forum is for discussing any and all forms of tech and other types of social backwardness. Including discussions of strange home-brewed hardware technology. Where to get good tools. How to make fiberglass molds. Computer hardware and software technolgy, including operating systems, applications, networking, hardware, CPU's, disk drives, and other geeky things. Viruses and Artificial Life discussions. How to write HTML. End user tools discussions and support issues. Gating the Internet with other nets. |

The Help Desk would be a subforum also, and yeah, sometimes it's necessary.
Personally, I'd like to see and Operating Systems forum with three subforums rather than so many unique OS forums.

Exactly.

I unfortunately don't have that much influence, but thanks for your input.

Re: More Forum Changes
Cellular Mods, It Came From Redmond, and Cult of Mac blow total balls.
I am pushing for a Programming forum. I am not too into the Help Desk, simply because I think those "general help problems" really belong in T&T, and is what most of T&T is composed of anyway.

Hello World! has been created.
From the way you describe the proposed Help Desk forum it sounds like you want a place for "how do I fix my computer" -type questions. The OS-specific forums are help-desk forums for their respective operating systems. You should move iPod threads over to Cult of Mac, Vista grievances to It Came from Redmond, etc.
Which leaves general hardware-type questions. Are there really enough general hardware-type questions that they need their own sub-forum?

These would probably be more suited for plain T&T. And Jeff, please reconsider the Help forum, then it would free up the specific OS forums for OS-specific technical discussion.

Re: More Forum Changes
For the time being, we will surely survive without Help Desk. Thank you so much for Hello World! though.
