This may be a dumb question but..

If the drive came with computer, go to the computers manufacturer's website and click on a support/downloads link, from there, see if you can look up your computers model number and download and install the drivers for the DVD drive.

If you installed it, try to find a CD that came with it to reinstall drivers for it, or go to the drive manufacturer's website and do the above.

It sounds like it came stock though, so try the first one.
