fedora 9 install CD's fail verification

When I get to the CD verification step of the F9 installation, it tells me the CD has an error. I checked the hash and it's fine, I tried cleaning the CD, and even burning a new one, but I still get the same message, does anyone know why this is happening and how I can fix it?

I have a Dell Inspiron, currenly running xp sp3. intel core duo, .99 GB RAM. It has a CD-RW unit, can read but not burn DVD's. I am planning to dual boot F9 and XP.

Check the forums and see if it's a bug, otherwise it's probably an issue with your burner.

Did you check the (not md5) hash of the burned disc, or just of the ISO?

I can't find anything on the fedora forums about it, nor in the common bugs wiki.
I just checked the sha1sum of the ISO's, how can I check it for the Cd's?

I don't really know how you would do it on windows -- on Gnu/Linux you'd just shasum the raw device. I assume there's a program for it, and a decent CD burner (like Alcohol or Nero) should have an option for it as well.

There has been an issue with Fedora install CD/DVDs for the longest time.
I never did figure out why the hell it screws up.
I'm thinking the developers don't care.

If you can't get fedora to work, try opensuse.

It is indeed a bug. I burned loads of CDs at 1x speed and it still didn't pass.
