People on the streets, squatters and boarded up property
Walk around any city and you'll come across them...buildings that are abandoned, boarded up and in such states because the owner can't work out a viable way to make money from them. Meanwhile squatters are breaking the law for what they do and the homeless litter the streets.
Why is this so? What are your thoughts?
I feel society has taken our souls. Our problems (not being able to rent our extra properties) could be the solution to the problems of others. Whilst the problems of others (not being able to gain employment) is to our gain as we get the jobs.

Nice thought, certainly, it should work that way!
Unfortunately, Esau has divided our people against each other. Although, our own lust for money certainly deserves a lot of the blame.

Re: People on the streets, squatters and boarded up property
Can't it just be the obvious reasons?
People make really shitty decisions sometimes, and then the consequences come. The shitty decisions come from a lack of foresight or bad luck, and someone's inability to change is either self-evident (lack of sheer force) , limited by ambiguous social traditions (trading off burdens like you mentioned, something I think would be a bit hard to pull off simply because there's no working system in place already) or a psychological problem like apathy or a resistance towards change.
I don't think you can really justify saying "society has stolen our souls" without explaining yourself further. That sounds like demagogue talk to me.

Clearly there are abandoned buildings around so people into urban exploration have some interesting places to explore.

Yes I'm sure that's why banks own them with for sale and for lease signs forever on them.

Idle vagrants. The last vestiges of a savage race left within a civilized society.
