The Impact of Early Childhood Events
I think everyone agrees that events that take place during childhood tend to have a profound impact for the rest of someone's life.
I'd like a discussion on this subject although I am not entirely sure how to approach it. Instead I will give details of what I believe had the most profound impact on my life.
This involved being bullied at a young age.

When I was a kid I had no balls. At the first sign of danger I shut down. A boy insulting my aroma was enough to catalyze so much pain down the road.
It bothered me that I did nothing to defend myself, bothered me to the point I really killed a part of me. I was hurt and from there on I started to hurt many others.
The boy cannot be blamed. He saw weakness which he could repeatedly cash in on which accumulated him a fine sum of popularity points.
I suppose I did appear humorous to him and others, my silent horror, my pale scared face, the stink of anxiety infecting the air.
One memory centers on an experience where this boy and one of his cronies are conversing. Cronie: Why do you pick on Ben so much? The boy: Cuz it's fun!
I could only imagine what I could change if I could be back there. If I stood up to this kid. Instead of being the helpless victim.
Those events took place in the third grade. They had a profound impact on my life.
