Question +999,999,999 internets to anyone who can answer this. help!

Alright, so everyone knows about the Japanese-Canadian/American internment here in North America during WWII.

But what about Canadians/Americans/British living in Japan during that time? Were they interned? Repatriated?

I'm not talking about the legations or the embassies either, but the citizens or regular aliens at the time.

If you could provide a source to this as well, I will throw in one extra internet so you will be an Internetionnaire. Sorry in advance to use a lame term like that.

"Because she was an enemy alien (she refused to give up her U.S. citizenship), she wasn’t entitled to the rationing coupons handed out by the Japanese government, and she was even kicked out by her aunt and uncle, for being pro-America. She was hounded by the kempeitai, the secret police, and had to scramble for work...........and befriended a group of POWs who were forced to work for Radio Tokyo, a propaganda arm of the Japanese government."
