Realistic PRO- Channel Scanner

Realistic PRO-2004 300 Channel Scanner

Here are some changes you can do to the Realistic PRO-2004 Scanner
to give you more channels, faster scan rate and the 800 MHz Band and
also to use the 30kHz steps.
You will need to get 2 Diodes, Part # 1N914 from any Electronics store,
or Part # DX-1056 at Radio Shack.
1. To get 100 more Channels , Install 1 diode in "D510".
2. To get a faster scanning rate Install 1 diode in "D514".
3. To get 800 MHz band, Removed "D512" and "D513".
All these diodes are located on PC-3 Board next to IC504. First you
unplug the scanner from outlet then removed the 4 screws from back
of scanner, Removed cover it will be a little hard at first, Flip
scanner over and locate PC-3 Board there will be a metal box, remove
the cover, locate IC504 to the left of that the diodes are located.
Diode 510,511 514 are not number so locate D515 and count up from
their to fine them. After you have made the changes this will give
you 10 channels more per Bank at a total of 40 Channels per Bank and
a total of 400 Channels, A faster scan rate at 10 slow / 20 fast
channels-per-second , and all of the 800 MHz Band With the 30kHz step.
The band range will be 25MHz to 520MHZ - 760MHz to 1300MHz
not bad for Free.
NOTE: You will have to reprogram you're scanner. So be sure to copy
down any frequencies you have stored in scanner.
For those that have the PRO-2021 Realistic scanner and want to add
the missing frequency bands, to get those channels from 68 to 88MHz,
and 806 to 960MHz bands. First removed cover and at lower left of
scanner locate D44, D45 Diode and clip both diodes to restore these bands.
