HELP ME!!! I washed my phone...

was at work and got home, had dinner etc... when I realisd that my phone was missing, tried calling it etc but to no avail, anyways it was in the washing machine.
it was needless to say very very wet and did not work.
it is a sony K700i model and I am very attatched to it so please tell me anything that i could do to make her work again,

If you didn't try to turn it on, there would be a much better chance of it surviving!

First thing, take the battery out NOW. Then, using a Torx screwdriver, take the phone apart. Buy some distilled water from an auto shop and wash the PCB well in this. Then leave it for at least 24 hours to dry out.

After it's all dry, reassemble it and it should turn on again. I've resurrected a Nokia I found on the floor in a puddle in this way. It works perfect apart from a mark on the screen where water got between the diffuser sheets - if this happens, you can take the screen apart and clean it but it's VERY fragile. The sheets are extremely easy to tear.

I have been very happy with my phone. Two weeks ago I lost it for 5 days. I found it in my rugby shorts pocket, good? Not good because they had been through the washing machine. Crikey? I am still in contract & my phone is bust?

I took the back off the phone & stood it on a radiator for 3 days. I then saturated the phone with WD40 & left it for 2 days wrapped in kitchen roll. Today I tried my wife's battery from an identical k700i & guess what? The phone is working! I have left it open & the residue of the WD40 will hopefully evaporate. This is a very well built & very good quality phone.

I washed my microsoft SPV, I got it working by almost exactly the same way MonkeyQ - the distilled water, but the screen was an OLED screen so never worked to an ideal standard.

so just bought a 'broken' spv and swapped out the screens
