Warez and Spam: No Tolerance

This forum will not tolerate warez or spam. Certain members have been posting links to rapidshare that allow users to download warez. This will not be tolerated.

From this point on, warez links will be a no-tolerance issue; you will receive one infraction per link, and it only takes two infractions to be banned. If you happen to post multiple links in a single post, it looks like you'll be taking a little time-out.

This is everyone's official warning. I won't tolerate criminal activity on this forum.

That's something I'd feel obligated to edit out, so I'd rather it not go on. I'm trying to protect totse from becoming labeled as a filesharing website.

What would be the point of that? 5 x 2 infractions would put me at 15...making it completely pointless, other then as a gesture.

Also, I'd like to know how posting warez links is "Using the board to organize criminal activity", probably not your fault (its limited as to what you can infract for isn't it?) But its fucking retarded.

I'm not going to ever post 'warez' but I think torrent links and their legality is such a grey area.

Also are keygens completely illegal? I'd imagine of all the things on the net they are the only ones I'd think are pure trouble (besides child pornography and illegal goods, including drugs, trade). With music, video, computer applications you could argue you were making a backup of something you already legally own. With e-books I'd argue you can lend the same books from a local library free of charge. But with a keygen although made and distributed free of charge they exist only to make a workable key for someone...unless you slanted that you lost the original key, or it was for 'educational' purposes.

Linking or indexing links to the warez files is perfectly legal.
