No... Most come (if not everything) comes with 3.5mm (1/8").

I know a few people with these... the build quality is shite, the sound quality is mediocre and the GUI is Gott awful.

The one good thing about big name brands like Creative is that they didn't get where they are without some kind of good product/service.

Who the hell can fit their music collection into 4GiBs? Mine is 16GiBs, and that's 99% mp3, no less than 192kbps.

Speaking of which, I'm shocked that I'm starting to fill up my mp3 player (20GiB Creative Zen Touch).

well it arrived and here is the list:

1) it uses a 2.5mm jack as oposed to 3.5
2) the jack is located on the side? (its a look alike nano) so it sticks out in your jeans pocket
3)the headphones supplied broke whithin 4-5days
4)the GUI is dire
5)the actually memory is firmware hacked to display as 4GB the memory chip is only 8Gb (1GB) so anything added over 1GB becomes 'corrupt'
6)the Li-ion battery cooked itself so last about 1-2hours at best

all the mp3 play is now good for is data storage, moral of the story dont buy jap
The 4GB scam is all too common now - dodgy 4gb memory cards are actually hacked 1gb cards. If you read the feedback you'll se a LOT of people getting very annoyed about this. There are some genuine players though, and this is normally reflected in the feedback.

And yeah, a 2.5mm jack is a pain in the ass as you have to buy a huge long converter which will probably stress the jack inside and break it.

The Li-ion battery charging systems I've seen inside them are downright dangerous. No voltage/current regulation, just a 10 ohm resistor in series with the 5v 500mA USB power. It's no wonder it fried, it's lucky it didn't explode. Li--ions are delicate beasties to charge.

Just got a Palm TX...

Now that SD cards are amazingly cheap (lowest price is $30 bucks for a 4gb!) I can have a pocket pc with wifi access, videos AND music all in one.

Its an iPhone minus the phone.

Hey!

The only reason i bought an Ipod was because i had over 20 gigs of music and my little 512 RIO wasn't cutting it

i don't want to look cool

Although everytime i make the mistake of pulling it out to change songs, about 10,000 old people walk up to me and start talking about Ipods.

Anyone ever have that happen to you?

"WOW WHICH IPOD IS THAT?"

"Uh, a 30 gig... white one?"

"WOW I WOULD LIKE TO BUY ONE! IPODS ARE SO GREAT! APPLE MAKES THE BEST PRODUCTS! I HAVE 16 MACS AT HOME!"

Its pretty damn hilarious...

If you want to shut an obsessive Apple fan up, just tell him/her to go buy a new GFX card for their Mac. I remember hearing about someone who was "so excited to join the Apple community" after buying one. For fuck's sake, its a computer!

Apple build quality is very good, but I think you can do better for the price.

I have a Creative Muvo TX something, 1GB, no radio, for about a year, works great, sound is very good, its pretty resistant to alot of stuff (like falls and gas, gas as in petrol, only the case is less shiney). The Standard head phones broke after a month, Im really having trouble finding ones which dont do that, so far I found panasonic last up to 6 months or more.
Good thing is it never locks up, doesnt have stupid restrictions (some cheap players have something like "ZOMG! !!!11 1GB memory - but you can only put 150 files on that, no more"), battery life is good, lasts atleast 15 hours, although Im gonna buy some rechargables for it.

But then how would he scroll through his songs with Dionysian ease. I like creative. Wait actually I don't. In my experience Creative players are mostly unreliable and are fidgety. I ripped my Zen Microphoto open just to get the 4GB Microdrive to run it in my powerbook. (totally worth it)

Also I don't see why people need so much memory. I have my cheapass i-Nickel, for pop songs and classical music, and I have my 512MB Samsung USB Key type media player for audiobooks. I used to have a 40GB iPod, back in 2003 I think, IREŁ550 - about $1500 modern dollars, and it totally wasn't worth crap. I tend to listen to the same songs over and over, like a big retard

I used to have a creative muvo 128 and I liked it but only fitting 32 songs pissed me off so I bought a samsung yp-k3 2 GB. I love it. It plays for a long time and only takes 2.5 hours to fully recharge. It has a beautiful touch light navigation and a very nice display. it does photos, FM, screensavers, sleep timer and headphones that are actually decent. I love it

Its not a zen, its a simple mp3 and it never freezes or anything, its the greatest thing to grace me since my birth, or since getting my PC. And it cost me around 70$USD present or around 60$USD when I bought it. Although I did hear about firmware problems on a few of them, didnt get any of them so Im a happy man.
