Chinese MP3 Players

The Li-ion battery in my rather ancient Rio recently gave up - given that a replacement is £20, I bought a 1gb MMC card and a headphone adapter for my phone and I'm now using that as an MP3 player. The card and adapter only cost a total of £10.

Sound quality isn't as good as the Rio but I don't use it much - only for walking to school and back (20 mins a day).

You don't have to run Itunes with an Ipod, jeebus. Winamp, free and better by far. The product rocks (I have a 4gb nano), but the software is cumbersome, invasive and slow.

Had a chinese 256mb player ages ago. Dropped it too much, so it quit working, but it was good until then, battery life up to 20 hours (not kidding) with better headphones and settings changed. For $80 back then (5 years or so), not bad at all.

Heh, I've always seen those floating around on ebay and I've wondered what they were actually like.

Quite good. The one I got also had inbuilt mic recording, so I basically use it as a well-disguised recording device at school
