these lil hexagonal things in my house

on the outside sill of my front door,and the outside sill of the masterbedroom door,there is a hexagonal prism type brown shape nailed to the door,its pretty small,about 4 inches long and skinny.it has wat looks like a w on it.on the bottom it has like a flat head screw,i tried openin it but its stuck.anyone know what this is??
