ok so how is science a religion?

A religion is basically, something you accept without question.

How many people here have bothered to verify whether Force is really Mass times Aceleration?

You took the statements of numerous high-school teachers, physics profs, private tutors, elder siblings at face value.

Who in turn did the same to their respective teachers.

You're a fucking idiot. One can very easily test f=ma. Measure somethings mass, measure it's acceleration from a collision with a consistent force (reciprocating saw blades against a pool ball work nice). Then, to prove that f=ma, repeat the experiment with an object of different mass. The force will remain the same, so if the mass is smaller, GASP!, the acceleration increases just the right amount for the calculated force of both experiments to be almost equal! Who'd have thought decades of physicists might actually be right with all their zaney experiments!

Your definitions are rather incorrect. Religion is belief in a supernatural power. science is the belief in unatural and natural explanations or Phenomena.

What your trying to argue; everyone should have a critical viewpoint of the world. but in no way does it prove that science is a religion.

A religion is defined by the fact that it atempts to answer the question of what comes after death. Not only does science not do that, but science doesn't give answers. It's a method with which people try to answer questions.

I think he's saying that people are too quick to believe things. You should find the truth for yourself. Modern "science" does not know eveything. The world's best scientists couldn't figure out how bumblebees flew until about 3 years ago.

The point I am trying to make is this.

Science and religion are both attempts to explain the forces of nature. Religion tries to do this by means of a supernatural being. Science., through a set of laws.

If i were a psychologist, I would say that the data for science and religion reside in the "PARENT" parts of the psyche. And not in the "ADULT" and "PARENT" parts respectively.

I am not saying that we should think for ourselves. I have just observed that we don't.

Oh dear. Force = Mass x Acceleration BY DEFINITION. Any shape that does not have 3 internal angles that total 180 degrees IS NOT A TRIANGLE. Saying you can't prove either of these is a bit like saying you can't prove that all batchelors are unmarried men.

Saying that 1+1=2 is only assumed to be true because we've yet to find a situation where 1+1 doesnt equal 2 is a VERY weak argument.
