Ok, im not slagging off any religions here, just pointing out some facts. ok, so most everyone will tell me that the stories in Homer's Iliad and Odyssey are wrong from a religious point of view. right? i mean, Athene did not appear before Odysseus in Ithaca and talk to him face to face, because she isn't real. just a fictional character. right?
but the greeks used these epics almost as their "bible", for from them people could learn morals and how to live right.
Ok, so the major modern religions say the greek gods cannot exist, but then what makes their religion so special? it is again based on scriptures often hundreds and hundreds of years old. what makes christians so sure the bible was not a mere epic?
