Question for Christians from a Muslim

I keep every times seeing posts like Islam was spread by sword and people were forced to convert to islam in fact i don't deny this , Islam indeed was spread by force, comerce and by peace no fool will deny history facts now i have a litle question do you know Cortez? the spanish guy who conquered mexico well according to history this guy went to mexico then inhabited by natives with catholic priests who asked natives do you believe in jesus (in spanish) and since the natives didn't understand spanish they were killed for denying Jesus now my questions why don't you state similar historical facts like these proving that christians also converted people by force or it's as usual double standards.

i am currently of the jewish faith and i know that religions have been spread by force. but they recognize islam for it more why i don't know in fact i find that alot of muslim beliefs interesting and great i prefer judaism though.

Because christians stopped doing that over 500 years ago. Muslims continue to do it to this day. Christianity was brought to Greece through peace, not war.

When Cortes and the Conquistadors come up in discussion on this forum, I am sure that fact will be mentioned. It would be rediculous to talk about Cortes in a thread about Islam.

the difference is in their role model. jesus was a peaceful man, and while cortez may have used religion to force his way of life on the natives, this is in no way representative of christianity. muhammed, the final prophet of god, DID go around killing people in the name of god. jesus did no such thing

so you see, you are trying to compare a spaniard, who probably had little knowledge of the actual philosophical message of the bible, with muhammed, the last and greatest prophet of god, who muslims try and model every facet of their life after.

you are comparing apples and oranges.

needless to say, the son of god could get ever so slightly violent at times

Way to completely ignore the way Europe was run for over a millenia. Far more than just Cortez forced Christianity by violence. A better agruement would be to blame it on Catholicism, but the early protestants were no better. Christianity did grow out of it, but to castigate Islam for a history of violence, while pretending Christianity did no such thing is either ignorant or dishonest, and hypocritical regardless.

Maybe you could try to be less of a tool and argue about the fact that some Muslims still do it.

Um, Islam was never spread by force? Oh sure, Countries were conquered by Islamic Leaders, but the civilians inside the countries were never told "Convert or die". Sure there were taxes, but it was never a convert or die thing.
