I've always thought it was just as possible that God is a big beard in the sky. It answers the same number of questions. I don't believe in God, so it's obviously preferable, but in honesty, it's equally as likely.

Well, a major part of their belief is based on Faith. You've got to trust in the teachings and hope that that Guy is up there, or you've been fooled your whole life. He doesn't have to give proof. But if you want the rewards, you've still got to believe.
And I AM pretty sure that there isn't a teapot orbitng Jupiter.
