is there any jew missionaries out there?

I was asking my self this simple question jews don't try to send missionaries to convince others of joining their relligion like muslims and christians do?

I find this weird because jews usualy complain of being a minority but they don't do anything to increase their number ?

I perceive this to be one of the biggest flaws in Judaism. They can be likened to the Amish, in their missionary work. There is virtually none.

I don't understand that...what is the point of our existence, if not to help others ?

I see this as a travesty on the part of the Jews. Keeping God to yourself, and neglecting your humanitarian responsibilities is simply....contrary to God's will.

Don't get me wrong, I love the Jews. I love their culture, their dedication to their faith, and their discipline. But in this area, they fail miserably.

i whole-heartedly disagree. i respect Judaism for not pushing their beliefs on me.

this is also one of the reasons i particularly don't like Christianity and Islam. these evangelists think that they are "spreading god's word" or "saving" other people, when in truth, its just an annoyance to most people.

think of it from a different perspective. a person who is not christian most likely already has their own beliefs or belong to another religion. some christian comes up to your door and says "hello, i am here to save you. by following christ, you can receive eternal salvation". see how pompous that sounds? what incentive do you have to switch to christianity? the fact that you will be "saved"? most likely your religion already says you will be saved by following it. the whole concept of missionaries is arrogant and stupid.

I know of a Jewish Christian missionary...

but Judaeism doesnt have a missions function. The only missions Jews have is for proselytes and nothing more.

PS: If you think that someone asking you where you are spending eternity is "pushing their beliefs on you", you need a reality check.

Argon, I wasn't referring to Messianic Jews. Just Hassidics.

Also, missionary work is philanthropic. It's not just spreading the gospel, it's helping people. Building homes and schools...that sort of thing.

Jews SHOULD be doing that.
