give a reason supporting the kjv being the one true version, as opposed to the NIV or any other translation, i hear this all the time at church, ONLY BELIEVE TEH KJV i ask them why, and they say because its true. i find this to be stupid logic, and in fact am curious about the subject. why is the kjv the only true version, what facts support this?

Because how it was translated is so hard for the average person to understand that the minister can pretty much make shit up on the fly and his blind mass will know no better. It's a beautifully orchestrated mass mindwashing by the marraige of State and Religion and the corruption of both.

king james version isnt hard to understand at all. It just uses alot of Archiac grammar. The problem is people dont bother to read it.

But yes that does piss me off how people blindly follow religious leaders, even when they go against the bible, because people are too stupid to form their own belief system.

OOH like the whole anti-harry potter or dungeons and dragons movements, nowhere in the bible does it equate having a character act out magic, or reading about characters who do, equate to using magic youself, the arguments agaisnt them were stupid and biblicly unfounded. yet people blindly follow them because the higher ups tell them too. another thing i hear alot is that catholics are the most bitchy of christians, oooohhh noo, i can say from experiance, protestants, and baptists in particualar (i go to a baptist church) are some of the most close minded sheep on the planet, theres a jewish syangogue and a methodist church right down the street, both of which id rather attend but nope. it really is torture.

kind of offtopic, but the whole thing about intellegent design? that the church is embracing?

Oh, please--KJV is rife with errors of translation, not to mention a bunch of stuff added to pander to James's superstition.

Not to mention, that it perpetuates the hatchet job done by the Council of Nicea.

Plus, it perpetuates errors made when the scriptures were translated from Greek to Vulgate Latin. Like the part in scripture which strongly imples that Jesus survived the crucifiction, which is totally consistent with the political agenda of the Zealots of the time.
