Mercy and love

Mercy

So, you believe someone to have done wrong? To you? Others? Society? Ideals? God? The world? Of what basis do you believe good and evil, right and wrong, to exist? Instinct? Divine charge? Social norms? Of what basis do you believe your interpretation of these to be correct? Information? Faith? Of what basis is your information more correct? Agreement of others? Self satisfaction? Repetition in experience? Of what basis is your faith more correct? Agreement of others? Self satisfaction? Repetition of experience?

Of what basis is there to judge? Of what objective is your subjective view based upon? Of what objective can any definition be given? Why then, not show mercy, when your judgement is uncertain?

Love

With humility established, why not show love? Will you hold contempt for those you percieve to be proud even though you cannot be certain? Is not imagined certainty as much pride when used for contempt of others as when used for contempt of self? Why then, show contempt in imagined certainty, when love can be shown through certainty of ignorance and uncertainty of knowledge?

That's a lot of questions--here are a few answers.

According to the New Gospel, to which I and a few million others adhere, no one is any better than anyone else--we are All One--each one of us is an Individuation of the Divine. Therefore, there is no reason to hate, envy, fear or judge anyone else.

What's more, words are the language of the mind; action, the language of the body; and feelings, the language of the soul. And the soul's language has only two words--love and fear.

We always have a choice, but there are only two choices--we can come from a place of love, and manifest our divinity; or we can come from a place of fear, and deny it.

Furthermore, that which you condemn, condemns you; that which you judge, you become.

I would agree completely...what bothers me is the basic truth of 'lost in translation'. Love and fear can manifest in so many different ways.

What of the passage: "Fear not those who can only take your flesh, but fear they who can take your flesh and destroy your soul"? I don't know how much you put into the NT, but that's the only verse in the entire Bible that confuses me. I'm unsure of whether the 'destroyer of souls' is in reference to God, or those that attempt to drag you into fear.

"As you condemn another, so shall you be condemned"

"As you judge another, so shall you be judged"

So, you're essentially a part of the new covenant whilst respecting the truth of the old covenant?
