If Mary Killed Jesus

So i know that alot of you dont believe in religion, but most of the modern world was founded on principles told by jesus and his followers. Many wars, the only motivation for the fighters was going to heaven.

Lets say that Mary simply smothered jesus or something when he was born, as he was obviously the product of some sort of adultry. Now im assuming that the current christians would be a different religion, probably either a form of polytheistic roman belifs or an arabic religion.

Without jesus there may be a few folowers of christanity (under a differernt name of course) but with out 'the son of god' there would be few belivers and would probably die out.

If been thinking about this for a couple of days and cont really come up with a disadvanatge to jesus never existing. I think that the jewish religion would have dried up too, since they wouldnt have the indication that god existed.

This is probably more fitted towards the religion for or HB even, but give m eyour ideas, and any authority figure can change forums if they feel the need to.

If people want to "find God2, they'll use any excuse. If it wasn't Jesus they would have believed in someone else, and they'd be Christians in all but name.

I mean you can have fun over-anaylising this thing... but the exact same situation can be applied to any historical event.

Are you putting this as an arguemnt for the existance of Christ?

I think it is pretty much widely accepted as fact that Christ did exist, the debate is weather he was actualy a synergy of man and God, or not. There is much more evidence for the existance of christ than there is for many other figures around the same time.

The man has books written about him early on in history, that tell stories by different authors, and yet places and events all fit together. Plus the existance of christianity, and the extreme following in wpite of massive prejudices right after christs lifetime, they all point towards him existing.

Moreover, why wouldn't you believe he existed? If he didn't exist, then someone made him up, and for someone to make the whole story up, and spread it as far as it was spread so fast, he must of been as large a figure as Jesus anyway.

Anyroad, the point is, it's generaly accepted he did exist.

Saying Jesus didn't exist is no different to saying Socrates didn't exist. I mean, no one can really prove you wrong, it happened a long time ago, but, there is so much evidence to suport his being, why doubt it?
