Hurting people is bad karma, directly or indirectly, plants are here for humanity to use respectfully, so is the earth and the animals.

Although technically one of the five rules laypeople have to live by is to not consume substances that interfere with one's ability to be in control of themselves, or something like that. I think?

it really does depend... i mean if you just wanna get stoned for the hell of it then it is bad karma because you are not meant to have mind altering substances, yet if it helps you relax or something then i cant see anything wrong with it
