Who would we have to start all the shit in the name of their gods, do you think the druids would be out there starting inquisitions and shit? or the Romans would be murdering in Mars name? Or Scandinavians would be killing everyone because "it's what Thor would want."?

why is it needed to unify people? So far it has seemed to split people up.

Take a look at the Catholic church, it split twice. the first one into the eastern orthodox, the second into the protestant. and the sunni and shiites in islam. And all three religions of Islam, Christianity, and Judaism has fought for thousands of years. Christianity has also fought with itself for thousands of years. Unity comes from something else.

Our current civilization is based on the discoveries of people who believed in polytheism. Would we have mathematics, architecture or astronomy without the Greeks, Egyptians or Babylonians? The advantage of polytheism is that it glorifies diversity; there is a God there to protect you whoever you are.
