Are we humans perfect?

So my parents force me to go to this Religious Ed. thing at our local church. Basically it's supposed to get you to believe in the religion at an early age so you'll stay with the church throughout your life. Anyway, so i was talking philosophy with my youth minister (whom I have great respect for even though he can be a bit single minded at times). I thought of a question that he only half answered but, quickly changed the subject. So I guess I'll post it here

If we humans were created in God's image and we are his creation than why aren't we perfect?

My youth minister responded that the reason why we are here in life is to prove to god that we are perfect so He can take us to Heaven

we live less then a crow

we run slower then a goat

we cant live without help till we are 3-4 years old.

Dogs dont need vitamin C they create themselves on their bodies, but we need to get it , we cant create.

we can count many many things =).

Human have lots of bugs to fix it.

God dunno how to make a human.

thats simple. there is no god. we were not created. we evolved from single celled organisms to the walking piles of bullshit spitting assholes YOU see today(or more like last week). does that answer your question?

We will never be perfect until we transcend the physical world and return to God, at which point we will be God. Humans can not be God, even though they try.

What is perfection? Reminds me of the difference between an optimist and a pessimist.



The optimist believes this is the best of all 'possible' worlds, the pessimist is afraid the optimist is right!
