Are there any religions that don't believe the use of psychedelics [mushrooms, etc], and are well recognized religions, are bad?

I'm not wanting to become that religion to do drugs, I am just curious as to what religions base themselves around psychedelics, or don't frown on it.

Do any of them believe in the 'christian' like ideas, but still believe drugs are for good?

If per say, Mushrooms bring a non-religious man closer to god, is it still frowned upon?

What about if someone overdoses on a drug, unintentionally, is that a sin? I mean, if someone goes into war and gets themselves shot, there's a 50/50 chance they will, I guess that's considered suicide, because you're pretty much getting set up to get killed if the ratio was that high, so is the drug user who commited suicide and the person in the army both going to hell for suicide?

I'm not a big fan of religion, but I'd like to know some answers if you guys could help - I don't go into this forum much.

Also, if to get into heaven you need to believe god is your savior, then how do the people living out in the jungles, who have never even heard of this idea of a 'god,' go to heaven? Isn't that a little unfair to them? They don't even have a chance. All their lives they've been raised to believe in something else, such as when you die you're reborn instantly, they've never heard of god, how can they get to heaven?

Christianity, or at least my Christianity(Gnostic) doesn't see the use of psychedelic or drugs acting on serotonin receptors as bad, but drugs acting on dopamine ground you to the carnal, physical world. You can't reach spiritual enlightenment and know true bliss until you get over the physical world. It's hard, but worth it.

Definitely not, in fact Christianity and early religions were probably based on and evolved because of the mushroom. Early biblical art even depicts the Tree of Knowledge as a mushroom.

It's not a "sin" per se, but again, the only drugs you can really OD on are dopaminergic drugs (well, not all, you can OD on MDMA, and you have). You're also much more likely to OD by abusing drugs instead of using them, which is also abusing your body, which is a temple.

Fighting in a war is already going against Christian values.

Jesus didn't OD so he wouldn't have to endure the pain of being tortured and crucified, so I don't see why we should.

Jesus talked about this, I remember one of his disciples basically asked him this and he said basically, "Those that believe in Love believe in me and will be saved." Jesus wasn't just a person, he was an idea.

I believe there is a following of a "religion" that is based around psychodelics and i know that they are or have been used in budhism, not zen budhism though.

I guess whatever religion the mazatecs follow. They use mushrooms and salvia.
