Religion In Schools?
Do you guys think that religion has a place in school these days?
If so with what exceptions? Because my high school say the lords prayer at the beggining of every assembly, and it is not a private, nor christian school. Now that's fine with me, I don't bow my head and I don't say it and they seem not to mind too much. But if they were to say this, should they also not say a short prayer for other religions, or cut the lords prayer out all together? You decide
Also do you think teachers should bring up their personal beliefs ever? I think teachers should appear to have no religious bias at school what so ever, as the opinion of a student(s) about the teacher might be affected due to conflict of belief.
Just a random story, but today at school a teacher of mine pulled me up for wearing a stirling silver Mjlonir (Thors hammer) necklace and told me to take it off. So I had to explain that it is both cultural and religious so I could keep it on. Haha
