was krishna a specified man

my whole life i thought Krishna was a man from india who was similer to the Christ. Just recently thought someone "corrected" me by saying that Krishna is more of an image, and never actually existed. Im sure someone can help clear this up for me,, thanks

A lot of Hindus would say he actually existed. Dunno if he actually did, but he's supposed to be God incarnate in human form.
