The Golden Compass debate- enlighten me?
I've heard/seen a lot of things on the internet that are all adamant about bringing down the book/movie "The Golden Compass". I've heard 'facts' from both sides that are mutually exclusive so it has really confused me. I think that this is the right forum for this thread because i want to know what the real issue is over religion in this book/movie- is it really about killing God or is there a deeper meaning, and are the Christian attackers justified in their fear in kids watching this movie?
p.s., i really don't want this to become a big debate thread. i know how you Atheists and Christians get when you are together =] i just want the facts/reasoned analysis.
