Why Atheism Must Be Abolished

Because:

1) They are becoming a larger, vocal and violent movement, especially against Christians.

Therefore, Gods people (ie. ALL good people, not just Christians) need to stand up to this challenge, and at least go-down-fighting.


2) Their reasoning is flawed beyond comprehension when it comes to science and social norms.

This is a threat to all of civilization, not just religions.


My personal reasons are, better they get destroyed, than 'us'.

That sounds a lot like the propaganda and verbal diharrhea spewed by the church during the inquisition. If you really want to discriminate against people who don't buy into some idea that is completely without facts (like most metaphysical matters) and the oldest business/social controller on the planet, then so be. Larger and more vocal? Yes. That's what happens when religions stop burning people at the stake.

Instead of thrashing about like a child, why don't you use your brain instead? There are many people out there who can help you overcome religious brainwashing.

To "go down fighting" your own inevitable marginalization by rational thought is illogical, and likely only to hurt yourself and others.

Wrong, completely. The religious more often than not are the ones with no understanding of even the most basic scientific principals; whether this is by choice or if they have been too deeply indoctrinated to understand is the only real question about that. "Social norms" have nothing to do with whether an assertion has any basis in reality.

It's not enough just to survive. You have to be worthy of survival. Wrapping oneself up in ancient, childish, demonstrably wrong and often abhorrent beliefs does nothing for such a case.

If mankind is to survive, he has to break free of the shackles of the supernatural, and the weak minded.

How so? Not all atheists believe the same things when it comes to science and social norms. It's hard to see how you can lump them all together like that. My position on social norms, for instance, most closely mirrors that of my fundamentalist Christian friends.

Believe it or not, most atheists are morally upstanding in the eyes of society.

They rebel against religion because they 1) Don't believe in God and 2) Because they realize that religion's negative qualities (dividing humanity, making money off of people, etc) outweigh its positive qualities.

Morality can exist outside of religion.

I am a moral atheist because I believe that if I we are kind to our neighbors, it will make everyone's life easier.

I know a group of fundamental Christians and a group of Catholics, and the fundies have a very hard time understanding science, like the theory of evolution. Also, how many "good Christians" do you know embrace our culture of sex, violence, and demonic music? Like it or not, our society revolves around those "values." Just turn on the news.

The most intolerant people I know are Christian. In a poll taken in 2006, 45% of Americans said that an atheistic president would be "unacceptable."
