Political Correctness
Excuse me for dropping a thread in here without looking around first or even lurking.
I hate the fact that to be politically correct one has to say Happy Holidays. It shows no diversity in our world, and instead of being proud of yours' and my religions heritage or traditions policy tells you to cover them up.
I am a Christian and I like to say merry Christmas to people. Tis' the season to be jolly and for well wishing. If a jewish man said happy Hanukkah to me instead of being offended I would be grateful that in this season more than wishing me a "happy Hanukkah" because I'm a christian that I will take his well wishing and I certainly will have a swell Christmas.
Same goes for Kwanza, if someone wished me a happy Kwanza I would smile and say Merry Christmas.
I told someone me argument on Political correctness and she said ( sheis Jewish) that by saying Merry Christmas I'm assuming the person is Christian. I am not assuming the person is Christian, I don't know what they are and I am not a pshycic so I say Merry Christmas.
I won't disagree, there are certain times to say happy holidays, when the situation calls for it, (buisness meeting, professional gathering, when you try to make a good impression on someone.) I just don't like the fact that I Have to say Happy Holidays to be politically correct, and I won't.
