I am trying to write an essay about how things today are wrong. This is not for any particular reason other than I have the incredible sense that something is wrong. I would like to hear what people of the earth feel about this subject. I want to hear both sides of the argument, both pro and con. Anyone who wishes is welcome to respond. I am eager to hear what people think.

DuctTape!

I did, in a sense, reply to a couple of similar questions a while ago, in this thread. And there was a, more or less parallel discussion here.

Perhaps not direct answers to your questions, but there are many connections.

1)we have the ability to learn ways to make clean fuel for cars and planes, etc, but we won't develop it because the large corporations control the government.

2)the US spends more than twice what the rest of the world combined spends on the military

And apparently Esso has bought the rights to make electrical cars. They don't intend to, but at least now noone else can do it and put them outta pocket.

What's wrong? Where do I start?

1) We are destryoing the rainforests, the ozone layer, and pretty much the entire third world.

2) Government, business, media lies on a regular basis, blatantly and shamelessly3) Wal-mart is working very hard to put all small retailers out of business.

4)Farmers in the midwest are literally destroying the aquifer (a huge underground pool of fresh water) in order that we may have cheap burgers at MacDonalds.

5) People like me who sort of know what the fuck is going on are demoralized and powerless.

Want more? Email me. This is too depressing to post publicly.

The fundamental root of the problem is that everything that was once sacred is not on clearance at Target in some form.

Watch Lord of the Rings. Imagine Isengard winning. That is our present state.

everything that is known to be right is wrong and everything known to be wrong is right. what i am trying to say is that being right or wrong is just a mtter of opinion, for example everything could be made out of a purple goo rather than atoms, coz dats my opinion just like the atom thing is some one elses (i am not sayiong i do believe that lol). or the number 7 could really mean the number 2000000000000000 for all we know. so how are we to now really what is right or wrong?

The problem is our environment. Not the nature-environment, though that's getting screwed up too. I'm talking about the moral environment in which we grow up. Heroic virtues we once exalted are now looked down upon and discouraged, while all manners of evil are praised.

And what's wrong with corporations controlling gv"t? It's better than the other way round. BilGetz would have so many competitors he couldn't even make it to monopoly. Is THAT what you want?

Industry should serve it's culture. Gov't regulation is a poor method to force it into compliance.

Proposal: In exchange for individuals having a right to a corporate veil - their demise at the hands of a lynch mob, would go uninvestigated. You're either a citizen, or you're not.
