i kind of feel like i found my own god.

if you believe in things having a spirit, which goes somewhere when you die, then why can't the earth have a spirit watching over it. or one spirit looking over each person for some reason or another. any shared thoughts?

The spirit looking over the earth is God. The God of Abraham(pbuh). Each soul has an angel looking after it. The term guardian angel is commonly referred to. These angels are dispatched by the Almighty to watch over us and protect us.
