Do you have sex before marriage?

If so, why?

Actually a close friend of mine who is christian doesn't believe in pre-marital sex. He's had a girlfriend for almost 2 years now.

I've spoken with people who have tried this and when they finally had sex, their sex lives were literally ruined and they could just never enjoy it. They regretted waiting so long, and it fucked everything up.

...To be honest, I think this belief is so goddamn stupid that I won't even waste my time putting an argument into words.

To each their own.

If you read the Bible, it doesn't say anything about premarital sex, only adultery.

Adultery

n

Voluntary sexual intercourse between a married person and a partner other than the lawful spouse.

So if you subscribe to Christian guidelines, and noone in the relationship is married to someone other than the intended partner or neither party is married, feel free to fuck away.

Not true.

There are numerous passages in the Bible disallowing sexual contact before a legal marraige.

To answer the thread - I have had sex before marraige. My explanation is that I have no explanation and that my actions were nonetheless inexcusable.

It's hard to say whether or not God expects us to follow His decree for abstinence. He has made similar decrees about respecting one's parents and prohibiting stealing - but nearly all of us are guilty of these sins on occasion. God realizes these are sins committed continuously "right under His nose," so I suppose He's pretty sure we'll break our promises to stay abstinant.

It's not so much what we do that God concerns Himself with, although it is fair to say there is truckloads of concern there. We commit these sins anyway - it's that we always end up with Him by the end of the day, honest with ourselves about our shortcomings and asking Him for forgiveness regarding them.

What I don't understand is how this god character supposeably makes it his business to turn your own personal blowjob into a great offense against him personally.

Where's the logic in that?

I bet the guys who wrote those laws in the bible were just so angry because they were tied down to their bitchy wives, that they felt everyone who was not married and having sex should suffer so they said it's against God (because they were jealous of them).

yup yup.

Actually I really don't know, but that would be funny now wouldn't it?

Haha, all those people who actually stop themselves from having sex before marriage. Going crazy with sexual desire and not being able to do anything about it. All because the authors of the bible couldn't get there end away.

What a fantastic way to get revenge on the human race.

Actually it works real well in regular societies. None of you are accustomed even to the idea of them though- In real civilizations (read- in civilizations before 1960) men and women were traditionally segregated at puberty, and rarely interacted with eachother outside of the family. Premarital sex was barely an issue, because women were not an issue to men, and men not an issue to women.

Also- duh assholes. People in Biblical times got married when they were 16 and 14. Thats not an unreasonable restriction that has no regard for someones sexual development, its actually quite consistent with it. We are out of sync because the idea of having responsibilty before the age of 30.
