These people were completely wrong, and I seriously question their Christianity if they can murder other people.

First of all, that's old testament law. Christians, particularly gentiles, do not follow Jewish law.

Second, killing a man who is trying to kill you is entirely different than hunting people down and murdering them.

One is self-defense, and the other murder.
