i was listening to a morning show the other day, and they said that the vatican has very recently admited that the bible may not be totally accurate, or possibly have some made up stuff in it.

ok as an atheist i say no shit, right. but for the vatican to admit this it makes me wonder. anybody know about this? im not starting this thread to start shit, i try not to do that. but out of honest curiosity.....and a few to many shiner bocks so what.

I think that Catholisism has moved away from God and has become to ritualistic. While I believe the Bible is 100% true, this doesn't really suprise me much. (I think that the Cathlics have some 'extra' books in their Bible that I think were not inspired by God)

if you have faith then you belive the bible is true, but everything in the bible is not the whole story or not to detail. As in God made everything in 6 days, a day for godd could be a billion years and not our 24 hour time. Also, people did not think of women well, so the only women said in the bible are the ones that involed mircle birth as in Sarah Abrams wife had child when she could not, and Elizabeth who was to old to have a child birthed John, and ofcourse Mary, who had Jesus.

There are also many other accounts written saying different things that what are in the bible, and the vatican do have these.

Everyone knows that there was a jesus, even historians say there was a man named jesus and he did do great things, not saying if they were mircles or not.

Actually the word in hebrew that says 'day' means 24 hours. The Billion year 'days' are a compramise between evolution and creation.

well in Hebrew it may mean 24 hours, but a person had to made it that way. it still doesn't mean that god really did make the things in a 24 hour day, and he could have, but it could have taken longer.

It wouldn't surprise me if the vatican did say that. Wasn't it one of the popes that said. "It has served us well, this myth of Christ"?
