Without googling, Christians; tell me what you think evolution is. I'm doing a survey for my own insipid purposes, to see if those who mainly spit into the face of evolution even understand what it is. I'll be able to tell if you googled, so at least paraphrase.

It means species change over time because of natural selection. Eventually genes mutate in order to adapt and produce offspring.

The definition of evolution, is not the evolution that Christians argue against. They argue against the theory of human evolution, not against the fact of evolution.

Many don't, but they don't need to. They throw all evidence out that doesn't match their beloved bible, so they don't need to know what the hell they're talking about to be able to discredit it. Hence, they have a non-argument which is why creationism isn't taught in schools.

i believe in evolution on a micro scale. like if one person doesn't procreate and no one from that person's family does either, they are out of the human gene pool. the human gene pool will evolve without that persons family's unique physical characteristics. the whole ape to ape-man to man... i think it is possible, but i don't believe it is fact, yet. not until all the evidence is provided.

ADDED: i'm catholic. there is a vast amount of catholics that take the first chapters of Genesis metaphorically and say that it speaks of evolution, but with the help of God.

My opinon of evolution is more like, humans and crap were already here. They just merely changed as time went on.

Not some weird thingy about coming from worms of monkeys.

It's not like the fucking X-men or something. It's not like a monkey gave birth to a human being overnight, even if that would explain Sylvester Stallone's existence.

If some type of higher power does exist, I think I would agree with the idea that perhaps it aided things like evolution.
