Why is there religion?

let me ask you this....how many books have been written? alot

what makes the bible stand out more than the others? Because its a good fuckin story....its so good of a story that people WANT to believe that it is real...

wanna know why? because there is something in it for them. in christianity its called heaven.

would you believe in a god if you knew that you were going to die and just be dead forever? i bet you my bottom dollar that your answer is no.

compare religion to christmas...little kids think that a fat guy in a red suite jumps down their chimney and puts presents under a dead tree......it makes them go crazy...they fuckin make thousands of wishlists, leave cookies out for santa, and they act like they are on speed on christmas eve. religion...people go to church and read a book about some magical dude who will make them live forever....thats pretty fuckin cool. who doesn't want to live forever? please not everyone at once. what if you found out that you dont live forever and once your dead you are dead. would you still go to church? i know everyone reading this that can understand what im typing is saying yes(sarcastically)...then they are saying no(like in the movie zoolander).

my point being is that religion is nothing more than a security blanket....and a fucking good ass business(any church in America).

so now im going to crack open a bud light for you mr. get-up-early-to-go-to-church-scared-guy....

i am welcoming any questions, compliments, flames, postcards, and obviously money.

well duh its a security blanket, but also religions are/were to guide people to live in harmony with eachother and teaching to forgive and not be vengeful. in other words, to keep everyone in line, for the sake of the general population's prosperity.

i used "are/were" because here and now there are mostly just religious fanatics who want to blow everything up in the name of "god".

and anyways, the bible is so contradictory that it shouldnt even be taken seriously.
