hello everyone

with space technology becoming increasingly advanced. a day would come when humans would have discovered and made contact with alien life forms and started communicating with them!

then what will be the significance of "GOD" in our lives then . or will we start worshipping someone else?

am i wrong in assuming such a philosophy because god still remains an entity in our lives!

waiting for opinions!

well in my opinion, some would worship the aliens, other would join the aliens religion(if they had any), and some aliens would join earth religions.

Reply to The Crow:

Is it the concept of god that is flawed or humanity's seemingly dominant trait to give definition to something that is beyond that? Why is it you think we would be worshipping something other than the same thing. If there is a form of being that could be called god surely it would be comprehensible to any intelligent lifeform?

For example: If 'god' turns out to be the logos spoken of by the ancient greeks, the 'highest principle' (the governing law, the unified equation that explains all life ...), would that also be relevant to any sentient being anywhere in the universe?

I would think so but as yet we humans do not seem to possess that knowledge(in a rational, scientific sense), and until one of us works out the equation, it is best to keep an open mind on philosophies regarding god.

rightly said we need to keep following our beliefs untill we find something or someone who is much superior than our imagination..

It would make no difference and I fail to see your point.

God, by definition, created everything including ETs.

Sentient life anywhere and in any form could commune with the same God I do.
