Is God really an angry, mean, and strict God....

i mean, the bible, books, and stories make God seem like an angry strict God who doesnt enjoy anything...

but what if on the contrary God was actually a really happy God who didnt care almost about anything and just enjoyed everything to the fullest?

why is he being potrayed as an angry and strict God, and not being potrayed as being a happy, peaceful, kinda God?

I know if I was God i would be enjoying everything to the fullest.

I can understand that making him seem evil and awful will get people to be better people, but still...

Well, that's one of the issues of the bible, jesus seems to have many many personalities.

But overall he's supposed to be very understanding, rational, and intelligent or w/e.

First, you need to understand that the bible is terribly flawed, full of myth and metaphor mistaken for fact.

Thing is, over time, the old Hebrews had a couple of different gods. The mean, nasty, jealous, micromanaging god was Jehovah. There was another, mellower god known as Elohim.

As the various gospels were translated and retranslated--from Coptic or Aramaic to Greek to Vulgate Latin to English--a lot of the finer details were lost.

I don't believe in the Bible. In engligh they had us read parts, well more like stories, for myths. We read the Noah'sakr thing, and that made me think he was mean and shit. Flooding the earth and all..

It's up to what you believe.

How would an omniscient being get "angry" anyways when it would know what to expect from the very beginning of time! Also to add - how would a perfect being feel a change in emotions? To change is to admit a flaw.

I think omnipotence and omniscience are quite a flattery for the christian God. Apparently, iron chariots are too much for him to handle, no wonder he's completely missing now that we have nuclear weapons

He may or may not be angry but its clear that if you anger him then ask for forgiveness, its in the past. Wish society worked like this. This is the single most important things about christianity, imo.

The god I know does not get angry, not is ever offended.

I mean, after all--he/she/it/them/whatever, is GOD, for goodness sake. No NEED to get angry or be offended.

Besides, since God created everything, he/she/it/them/whatever would have to be pretty stupid--i.e., ungodly--to dislike what he/she/it/them/whatever created in the first place.

The god I know is all about love and creativity.
