Why The "Who Created The Universe" Argument Fails

Alright so being a naive, some-what atheist, agnostic, apathetic 17 old who thinks I know everything I thought I'd share a thought about why the argument religous people make about "If there is no god then how did the Universe come about and who created it?"

Our concept of time is very staright forward and basic since our only basis of time is our own lives and obviously the lives of the things around us. The thing is our only knowledge of how time works is there is first a beginning and then an end, in our small world thats how everything works, however there is always the possiblity that not everything has to follow those rules, since the universe is ever-expanding and dosen't appear to be following the rule were everything must end how come it can't be possible that not everything has a start and finsih? How come the universe couldn't just always have been here? Mabey everything is just another form of the same recycled matter...It seems to make sense to me but I could easily be wrong.

But IDK really no and I guess I'll find out soon enough what will happen so at least dieing will be intresting.

It's no more logical to assume that the universe was always here and always will be in some fashion than to assume that it was created by God (or a god) or that it was created by the intersecting of hyper-dimensional constructs traveling through multi-dimensional space on a level we can't perceive. Most arguments about the subject are fairly pointless

True, but that seems to be the only argument people can come up with when defending their religon that can't be shot down. I can't personally think of one idea behind religon that can't be shot down with logical ,hard, scientific reasoning. Once you do all of that they seem to say "Well who created the Universe?" (In a rather cocky know-it-all way) So then I simply propose my argument and then I officially revelaed their religon to be hoax and they walk away angry, and pist at me.

Religious types seem to think that when a science person is arguing against their religion it's OK to use arguments like "So who created the universe then? GOD stupid!" because their use of religion provides an explanation where science admits defeat, for the moment. Many never realize that them blaming god for the universe leads them into the "god of the gaps" theory and actually lends credence to the scientific viewpoint seeing as at least it is honest enough to admit it doesn't know.

Summary: They do it because it allows both sides to mock the other and feel good about it.

its a hard and difficult question that may never be answerd no matter how advanced and how much of the universe we explore

if the universe is a recycling force of matter. How did the matter get there to begin with?

A common philosophy idea is that its possible the entire universe is a science experiment on some wierd beings desk of unimaginable size.

If thats the case how did that being come into existance. Its a never ending question, one that NOBODY can pretend to have the answer too

this is something that i struggle with when debating religion with my friends. if they're "allowed" to say "God has always existed," then why is it that I can't say "the universe has always existed"?
