He makes a solid point, are you a real christian or just skewing your own interpretation and amking it up as you go along?

And who said god loves anyone? seriously is that in the bible, I'm not saying it isn't just that I never recalled reading it in church.

Dude your missing the point ENTIRELY in all likeliness their interpretation of the bible is probably more accurate than any other "christian's"

I dont think it says he hates them. I know it says something to the effect of "If a man lays with another man surely he shall be put to death..." its in leviticus.

Dont quote me on this but I also recall something else to the effect of "If they commit adultery ask them to stop. If they continue than banish them from the land and prey for god to give their body to satan for destruction so he may pay the price on earth instead of in the afterlife."

And there is also the "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone."

Im not a big fan of religion, including christianity, because these books have mean things in them, especially regaurding "whores," homosexuals, pagans, etc. And none of it makes sence because they know humans lived 2,000,000 years ago.

It is. Something to that affect is also in the quran, however the bible makes it more believable in the things "god" says about heaven and the way he "interacts" with various prophets.

I highly doubt that. For one thing the whole point of christianity is to emulate christ, a person who never put up such arrogent displays of bigotry. He was the man that saved a prostitute from being stoned. Now Im not god but Id imagine "god" would frown apon prostitution more than homosexuality.

I thought it was to follow the word of god ie the bible? This is what I was taught in church at least. And if it were about christ's anti-bigotry values (which I'm not officially agreeing with that for the reccord) why are the majority of congregations going against those beleifs and even debatable concepts jesus clearly proclaimed in the bible?

I'm sorry I'm just having a hard time beleiving the word of god is open to such a wide interpretation. Hell, I don't even know where the line is drawn between man/boy pedophillia and homosexuality in a religious sense.

But you get my point at least wether you agree with it or not, right? I feel anything less than true 100% dedication to the bible is just half-assing it to fit around ones personal life and personal beleiefs. ie the pro homosexual says "jesus would be cool with it" the anti-homosexual says "its an abomination and you are going to hell for it"

Aren't these the argument we hear constantly? One of them has to be right? I say we take the logical approach that the king james bible's god probably does hate homosexuals its in his own book he wrote as an "abonimation". No personal offence to the gays as I find very little sensical logic in the bible.

I remember watching a show where a straight man would live in Castro for 30 days with a homosexual. A straight, christian soldier.

In one of his talks with the local gay preacher, she asked him if he would kill another man for his country. His reply was of course yes, being a man who served his country.

A christian, willing to kill another man, even though it specifically says in the very book he reveres to not kill another man, condemns homosexuals.

I know quite a few bible thumpers that read and follow the whole book. They're not anti-homosexual bigots, they prey for them.

No where in the bible does it say they should be ridiculed and harrased. Nowhere in the bible does god say he hates anybody. The concept of capital punishment in the Old Testament is so sinners can recieve their punishment in this world as opposed to the next. The whole purpose of "the savior" is so these people will be able to be forgiven. However I believe niether of these books so the OT is probably fake and somewhat evil.

(While on the subject of capital punishment, the quran says "god" wants muslims to kill so "god" can torture them in hell. Such is the waning difference between islam and christianity)

And Im not going to waste hours looking for other vereses as Im not a christian and really dont care. Until they find verses (which dont exist) explaining why humans have been arount for 2 million years, or god introduces himself to me, I will be too skeptic to follow any god-religion.
