A trend I am seeing with the animosity to religion.

Today, people are jumping into outright, full-bore atheism. Atheism, which used to be a choice like anything else, is now being treated like a status symbol. as if by doing it you are hip, sophisticated, and intellectual.

Like your in the cool crowd if your non-religious.

And I see proof of this whenever I try to talk to anyone I know about anything.

They say "Christians are blind, they just do whatever the priests tells them and they don't even ask questions"

or

"I think its stupid to follow a crowd of people in a religion who are doing the same thing for no reason."

I think its ironic really, but now you can't even be Christian or Jewish or anything, just because it makes you not cool.

I know from experience one nephew of a professor, who decided to not be Catholic because he thinks it makes his uncle respect him more.

How is this not "Jumping on the bandwagon"?

I give a fuck...I am an athiest b/c it just makes more sense than any religion. All religions have that terrible problem of an alterior motive dont they? Science only wants the truth.

If you believe it is easy to live in a religious community or have religious family members and tell them you think their whole belief system is a pantload...you are mistaken.

I would cry for the plight of the xtians who feel the animosity from the intellectual elite, were it not for the MILLIONS and MILLIONS of men, women, children and infants xtians have killed in accordance with their belief system.

I hope everyone jumps on the athiest bandwagon. It is more intellectual and intelligent to be an athiest as opposed to someone who believes they should have boring sex on earth so your space daddy can party with your ghost forever when you die. It just is.

atheism is mainly the new satanism. it's more of a religion (wich puts faith in scientific theories) and hates christianity. If you attack atheism, for the blind faith they put in certain things, or the way they acknowledge their ignorance of creation, they automatically say "Stoopid christian"!!!!

Christianity is just jumbled together nonsense, and I cant believe it's lasted as long as it has. It's jewish nationalism wich im completely against. However, like satanism, atheism, is the new parody of christianity. I do despise how cool all of them seem to think they are. If your an atheist/scientologist/buddahist thats just as cool as being a race mixer or queer, just like your favorite celebrities!!!!!

Hinduism (real hinduism, the original white version, without the cow/rat worship) is the only religion wich holds any stock. It basically is just about karma, no god or anything. But still, there is no way of truly knowing for now, without dying. If it was important for us to know something, I think an almighty god would actually let us know. Because what do we really have? abunch of thousand year old books written by man. I think i'll choose not to base my life on any of them, thanks.

I dont hate christians, and for the most part I dont care what they believe. I hate the preachers, with all their "love everyone, worship jews" filth. But I dont despise christians, or make it my business getting on the internet, and trying to discredit the bible every chance i get. The whole concept of good/evil, and everything else contradicts itself. I'd much rather christians convert to christian identity, just so they'd stop worshipping jews, but again, i really couldn't care less what they believe, because a part of christianity is passifism, so their opinions dont matter.

Yeah, it's supposed to mean not believing in god, but as I said, it's turned into the modern satanism, just a hate for christianity. Plenty of people, who admit they dont know what death is like, or what created existance think atheism is just as stupid as most religions. Like me.

I don't think I've ever met someone who is athiest just because its the new thing to be. I have on the other hand, met people who take great pride in proclaiming their atheism in public, almost as if they just want to see people's reactions. But, even those people really aren't athiest because it makes them popular.

I disagree with Elvis being alive, The loch ness monster as well as little green men in area 51 who shove things up hillbillies asses. The reason I do not believe in the aforementioned myths is the same reason I do not believe in religious mythology of ANY KIND (not just christian) is b/c they lack ANY empirical evidence whatsoever.

Did it ever occur to you that the reason you have so many athiests on HERE who dislike christianity is b/c most of the athiests on here LIVE IN CHRISTIAN countries, and suffer the wrath of sexually repressed dictators??? That now with the internet and so much information available people are finally learning every single day the BULLSHIT that is all religion?

You think atheism doesn't have an ulterior motive? Your mistaken. The fact is, all the people on TOTSE are just pissed off. they're pissed off because of someone else with opposing views. They have no tangible ties to what they believe, because something is only original for two seconds before it isn't original anymore.

There is nothing wrong with being anything. And that includes being Christian.
