I haven't seen the doco yet, but I caught an interview with the Judge of this trial on one of the American news programs the SBS shows.
I agree, he gave very clear reasons for his judgments and spoke very well. Upon being grilled on public opinion of the case (by a slightly aggressive interviewer), he stated that the law courts were not interested in being popular, but being fair and right. Which is damn well what every judge should be saying.
