Welcome to one of my more advanced topics for thieves, The Art And
Science of Burglary. I've studied this subject well, after reading
several books, and dozens of files on burglary (both supporting it, by
criminal, and against it, by the police). This strategy file to help
you become an excellent burglary has been centered around information
given in these two files. Misuse of this representation is most likely
in violation of your local laws and state laws, possibly federal laws,
so, if you are caught, you will definitely face jailtime if convicted.
I am not the person to blame over this.
First and foremost, when planning to burglarize, you will need to get
a team together. These people in your team must be EXTREMELY worth of
your trust, not the "friends" you think you have, who will rat you and
the rest of your crew out if he/she is busted. Search hard! The first
person, obviously, is the leader. The leader, obviously (nice word!)
leads the group. He/she directs and scouts for missions, is the chief
of surveillance, and is probably the most skilled at enterting. He/she
determines the share each member of the group shall get, and is with
the group while inside the house, and going through the place. The
second person is the car lookout - he or she waits in the car that
the group is using, listening to a police scanner, paying attention to
the local frequency, so your team can be warned if anybody calls the
police. Also, he or she (as should everybody else on your team) is
equipped with a walkie-talkie sort of unit, so that he can actually
contact the team. Cell phones could work, if that is all that you have
at the moment, but are a bit harder to use because of only being able
to call one person at a time - if you must do this, however, make sure
the lookout inside the house has a cellphone, set to vibration so that
there will be no sound. Third person - a lookout inside the house, who
stands near the main entrance, to warn of any impending danger. Last
but not least, there are two helper-sort of people who work with the
leader to sort through, carry and sell items for profit. Five people.
Next up, is your car. I'll make this short and sweet: a dark car will
do best, that keeps a low profile. Make sure your car is reliable,
simply for the fact that while leaving the scene of the crime, you
don't want to be observed because you are stuck. A full gas tank is
probably a good idea too, it will help, and I'll tell you why later.
Removing your license plates may be a good idea, but, if you must have
license plates, then you may want to get somebody else's - just
"borrow" them, so that if anybody takes note of the plates (if you
are followed) then your particular car won't be able to be identified,
since the numbers and letters don't match your car.
Before I get on to the actual operation + surveillance, you will need
to gather some equipment. Each member that is going into the house to
actually steal things should have a nice, large backpack with plenty
of room to hold things in. Also needed, for one person, include a set
of lockpicks or a keyring of master keys - this file is written in
the eyes of myself, with a set of lockpicks and a keyring of master
keys for deadbolts and the like. If you don't have some, get some, or
use the alternative method; you'll learn it in a minute. A flashlight
is always good, preferably one of the miniature ones that are less
than six inches long, but have a high power rating. An extra set of
batteries might help you out. If you don't have a lockpick set or set
of master keys, then take along a quiet, but powerful pen saw, and
some duct tape.
Then, get on with observation. A quick stroll through the neighborhood
is probably good idea, and get an idea for your mark. Try your best to
find a family without a guard dog, alarm, or frontyard fence. Also,
another priority is a house where the people aren't home too often,
but, preferably aren't home often at night. The only way to find out is
to observe, and look around. A pair of binoculars is good for
observation, as is a notebook and pen. Do your observation in a car,
OTHER than the one that you are going to be using for the actual
burglary. Get a good idea of the neighbor's activity, the family's
activity, and how the family in the house you want to burglarize acts
out their' day. Using binoculars should help you out with trying to
find out if a house has an alarm - look for those signs that say
"Protected By ADT Security Systems" or something like that. Move on.
Your house of choice may be hard to find, but keep on looking. It's
not always the house with a good outside, a guard dog and an alarm
that has the real goodies inside. As a matter of fact, I've seen the
EXACT OPPOSITE many times.
When you've found the right house, then your group should ride to the
general area, and park around the corner. Let the car-lookout do his
job; yourself and the inside crew should be ready, and begin to make
your way, extremely queitly, very stealthily, to the house. Three of
the team people should go wait near the back door or side door. The
man at the front of the house should gain entrance as quick as possible
to the inside, otherwise you may be suspected by anybody who gets a
decent look at you. Once inside, let your crew in, and have the inside
lookout get to the front so that he can do his job.
If you don't have a set of lockpicks, then do the next logical thing.
Bring out the pen saw and duct tape. Go to the back door (door needs to
be wooden) and, if the screen door is locked, simply cut out the screen
and proceed to unlock the door. Obviously, open it, and begin to cut a
square out of the door with your pen saw. Do this as quickly as
possible, and once you've cut out a block, push it in, reach your arm
inside, and unlock the door. Open it up, and hope that your alarm
guesses were right. Once inside, have your crew follow you, with the
hand-radios turned on. If you don't have them on, what are you going to
do when your buddy in the car tries to message you because the cops are
on their way? You won't be able to do anything if they are not on, then
you will not know! Use common sense.
Once inside, begin scouting the rooms. Leave the backdoor unlocked, and
start looking around. Take smaller items of value, such as CDs, video
games, jewelry, movies, etc. Pack these into your bags. If you're after
a large taking, your lookout might want to take along a bag to have
somebody else fill. Be extremely careful inside, you do not want to get
yourself injured, and be almost immobile, it will endanger yourself
and your crew. Some recommended items for taking, besides what I've
already mentioned, are any small parts to computers - if you're willing
to take large risks and believe there is ample time (you should know
from your observations) then open up the computer and take the RAM,
hard drive, processor, motherboard, and anything else inside that you
may need. Stealing and kind of firearms is recommended, but this may be
a felony - although I'm not sure, though I think that it is. If there
are any DVD or VHS movies, swipe them up. Take some of the food out of
the refridgerator if it looks good to you. Take anything and everything
you want or need, as long as you can use it, sell it, and are able to
carry it out. Contrary to popular belief and what you see in the
movies, IT IS IMPOSSIBLE to steal a 48" bigscreen TV as far as I'm
concerned, even if you have a team of five and a large truck. Doesn't
work.
Once you and the crew are done, if you have no troubles, toss on your
backpacks, and peer out the backdoor where you came in, very
carefully. If you are sure that it is safe, then leave with your team.
Make your way back to the car stealthily, just as you came, and get in
the car. Drive off, but don't go home right away. Drive around town for
a little bit, just to shake off anybody who may be following you, if
there are any, then make your way home. Get to getting rid of the
stolen goods, via online shopping or something, but do not take them to
your local pawn shop. Pawn shops, by most laws of the local areas and
states that they are located in, are required to turn in reports of any
items they buy each months, incase there are any matches with stolen
goods. Be careful with whom you sell to - I advise you to not sell
anything in real life to anybody, if the item is stolen. The part that
was about somebody following you, that's why a full gas tank comes into
use if somebody is. If you are planning on keeping it for yourself,
then you may need to conceal it for awhile. I will eventually put up a
file on developing concealments, and concealments that I've made in the
past before.
Good luck to each of you.
