I was reading some articles on lockpicking and i found some people who reccomended lockpicks be made out of blue steel. This is because blue steel is rust-proof, and is a lot better than normal steel. Many people have said that blue-steel is hard to get ur hands on, but it is very easy to make if u know how.
1) Have a tin can of motor-oil handy
2) Heat up the iron/steel. For this, you can use a blow torch, or a very hot fire will do the trick, as long as you can heat the metal untill it glows blue.
3) Dip the metal into the oil, and leave untill it cools slightly.
4) Repeat steps 2 & 3 a couple of times then leav to cool.
5) Wipe off any excess oil and it should be ready to use.
(*note* stainless steel will not work. the reason it is stainless is because it does not react with anything.)
