Movies/PC Games/Apps: 2 good ways to get these….
MIRC- By far one of the best ways to collect any PC software or Movie, you can usually get good download speeds (30k-130k on average) so larger files shouldn’t take more then 12 hours to download.
1. Get mIRC at www.mirc.com
2. Tune mIRC to download (If its not working for you visit the forums over at www.packetnews.com and read their help files)
3. You will be using XDCC to get your files; File Servers are a pain in the ass to use.
4. Go to www.packetnews.com or www.xdccspy.com or www.ircspy.com and use their search engines to look for the file you want. Once you find it, click on the number that pops up and it will automatically open mirc and bring you to the server, at which point all you need to do is click ctrl-v and you should see something like…
5. Ok say your looking for ubercoolgame from herb311 and it’s the packet
number is 4 you will see
6. /msg herb311 xdcc send #4
7. If that doesn’t work then try….
8. /ctcp herb311 xdcc send #4
Bit Torrent – This is a very reliable way but has a tendency to be slow; it usually takes you a couple of days to get files ranging from a 1-2gigs in size.
1. Go to http://www.cosil.com/ptc/ to get Personal Torrent Collector, in my opinion it’s the best Bit Torrent Client out at the moment.
2. After you install PTC your ready to start downloading your movies, games or apps. The BEST search engine out there at the moment is www.novasearch.net there having legal problems at the moment (01/17/04) but there site is still up, the problem is there moving there servers so in a month it should be set. Another large site (a little more frustrating to use though) www.btsites.tk And another search engine I stumbled on earlier today is www.isohunt.com they look like they could be a great search engine if they collected more torrents
Google Reverse Lookups: All you have is a phone number? Enter the entire phone number into the google search box and you will get a name, an address, and if you want, google will make you a map to their house.
Phone Number Locations and Anything Else: You can do Reverse Lookups at http://www.melissadata.com/Lookups/index.htm and you can find the address of just about anyone…. Plus there is tons of other useful information there for free
