Scheduled drugs are a bitch to get filled. Sch II drugs(ie Adderall) requires a written prescription each time it is filled, with no refills. Sch III,IV, V drugs (Xanax, Kolonopin, Ambien etc) refills are dependant upon the prescribing physician.(most will not give you a refill until 30 days/whatever period your prescribed for goes by). Well heres a quite simple way to get another one or two written prescriptions every month! And no, this is not "doctor-shopping", its free, and guaranteed!

Either on a day your doctors office is closed, or (preferably) your doc is on vacation givr his office a call. Most (if not all) reputable practitioners have a 24/7 on call operator. (who has access to your records, only when need be). Call during your doctors regular busniess hours but just make sure you dont let the operator know your advance knowledge of your doctors absence. Explain that you need your 'script filled today (you'll be near the office on errands, going on a trip, lots of schoolwork etc... (it doesnt really matter, its a script you already have, but just to be safe)

The operator will run a quick check of your record which shows medications you take (it does not show your last refill date, however) and if you take the drug you said you do, the operator will give you a number of your physicians on call doctor (usually located in close proximity of your docs office) and they will instruct you to call them and explain your situation, that doctors office verifies it with the on-call operator, and Voila!, your prescription is now stored in the on call doctors records! Now you can fill two scripts a month, once your regular doctor gets back since your in both computers (your primary care physicians for your checkups and prescriptions; and the other doctors just for a prescriptions [which many people see a doctor for just a 'script, its fairly common). And don't worry, doctor-patient confidentiality prohibits even corresponding physicians to view a patients record from another office, and the 24/7 on call operator is also under a confindentiality clause...
